40 days and 40 nights

To all of my friends on the mainland. I am getting my pay back for rubbing in our great weather.

The National Weather Service has pegged Feb. 19 as the start of the current unstable weather the islands have been experiencing. That would make Thursday the 40th day of wet weather.

This makes it pretty hard to maintain any assemblage of a construction schedule.
To read about our recent weather..

I find KITV has some of the best coverage of Hawaii Weather. Take a look some of the Hawaii Doppler loop for the most current look at our precipitation.

Iraq and the Philippines

I have been away lately spending a lot of time on the thing that pays my bills and mortgage but this is something that is going to get me out of hiding.

I am just amazed at the MSM lack of coverage of the Saddam's documents that have been recently released. Looking the through Hawaii's socialistic proproganda paper I do not not see one little tid bid about this. I have no problem finding there anti-war coverage.

Hawaii needs to take notice! With our large Philippine community and close ties with the Philippines, we are vunrable. Here in Hawaii we may get a sense we are safe and that Iraq is on the other side of the world and Iraq has nothing to to do with us. Well how about this Saddam - Philippine connection.

SADDAM HUSSEIN'S REGIME PROVIDED FINANCIAL support to Abu Sayyaf, the al Qaeda-linked jihadist group founded by Osama bin Laden's brother-in-law in the Philippines in the late 1990s, according to documents captured in postwar Iraq. An eight-page fax dated June 6, 2001, and sent from the Iraqi ambassador in Manila to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baghdad, provides an update on Abu Sayyaf kidnappings and indicates that the Iraqi regime was providing the group with money to purchase weapons. The Iraqi regime suspended its support--temporarily, it seems--after high-profile kidnappings, including of Americans, focused international attention on the terrorist group.
